Mermaids and Sirens

Mermaids and Sirens have the upper body of a human, in which they normally do not where tops, and the lower body of a fish. They love to sing to enchant people and Gods. They tend to drown sailors, because they forget that they can't breathe underwater of just because they want to kill them. In a Greek story, they say that Alexander the Great's sister was turned into a mermaid, and when ships came by she would ask if Alexander was still alive and if they said he was, she would wish them luck, but any other answer would cause her to go into a rage and many sailors died.
